In 2014, the world’s first Adult Freezer Pop was created in Chris & Dana Claffey’s kitchen in rural
Philadelphia, PA. Flavored premium wine mixed with the favorite flavors of the past – cherry, grape,
and pink lemonade – created something special, something new. Claffey’s Frozen Cocktails were
low calorie, non-GMO, gluten-free, kosher certified, and produced in the USA with zero artificial
sweeteners. From the beginning, Chris and his team remained committed to making these
childhood flavors with a twist – a spike of 6% alcohol in frozen, ready-to-eat freezer pop packages.
The journey had begun. In 2015 – from the back of his car – Chris took his expedition throughout the
Midwest and began working with distributors, stores, wholesalers & retailers to bring Claffey’s
Frozen Cocktails to the market. The first big box brand to bring this new beverage product to the
market was Costco, with demand so high that it exceeded the young brand’s ability to deliver the
retailer’s P.O.’s – but the demand remained.
Hard work and dedication are fueled by one thing – belief. By 2020, Claffey’s wine-based freezer
pops stretched across the U.S. as the fastest-selling wine-based product in Walmart that Summer.
