Summer is finally here, and I think we speak for everyone when we say, “Thank god.” The new year/new decade has been a rough one so far and I think we could all use a little sunshine after the happenings of the last several months. However, the allure of summer might not be as strong this year due to the fact that concerts and other events have been either canceled or postponed until the fall or 2021. It’s a bummer. However, we at Claffey’s Frozen Cocktails are all about making lemon drop martinis out of lemons, and today we are going to offer a few ways to still have a kickass summer even when it seems that summer 2020 has been canceled.

If you’re getting ready to head to a small party or you’re just looking for a way to cool down, be sure to grab a box of our alcohol freeze pops. Learn where you find us and enjoy your summer with all of our cool refreshing flavors.

Seven Things to do This Summer

This summer may look a lot different than summers that have come before and how we had pictured it. But just because coronavirus has rained on our parade, doesn’t mean we still can’t live it up. Try on these ideas for summer fun.

Take a Roadtrip

Though you’ll need to do your due diligence to make sure that where you’re going is safe, a road trip could cure your summer blues and satisfy your need for getting out of town. Not sure you want to leave the state? Travel to tourist destinations or places you’ve never been in your own state. You can even just make it a day trip!

Drive-In Movie Theater

One of the best, most nostalgic things to reopen this summer is the movie drive-in. Social distancing is easy when you can stay in your own car! Check out a drive-in theater near you for movie showings and grab your favorite snacks — and even some Claffey’s Frozen Cocktails! (Always drink responsibly.)

Camp Out At a National Park

Summer 2020 may have been made for camping and visiting your favorite national parks. Though some parks may be more busy and thus make it harder to social-distance, there are plenty of national parks to visit that will be quiet and give you that serene nature-experience we all need. Invest in a Parks Pass this year and head to the nearest national park near you!

Get Outdoors

Speaking of the outdoors, this summer is the perfect time to get outside and go camping or even do an outdoor adventure activity you have always wanted to try. This year could be the year to finally buy some hiking boots and go hiking or to visit a climbing gym near you and learn how to rock climb. Enjoy the water? Try paddleboarding, kayaking, tubing, or even just chilling by the water.

Learn Something New

If you have a little extra time on your hands this summer or you’re just looking for something to do, why not try learning something new? Sign up for a virtual cooking class, music lessons, or maybe learn a new language. Bring your phone or textbook to the beach, your favorite shady spot in the park, or enjoy an evening a week bettering yourself and your mind.

Have a BBQ

Summer and bar-b-ques go together like peanut butter and jelly or Claffey’s Frozen Cocktails and . . . well, everything. Nothing is more fun than getting your best friends together and hanging out while grilling your favorite eats. Still social distancing? Try meeting up at a park or picnic area and enjoying some time in the sun. Make it a monthly event for your closest friends or throw the biggest party yet (Be sure to follow all social distancing regulations in your area).

Binge Watch Sessions

After a day out hiking, chilling at the beach, or hanging out with the homies, binging your favorite TV show or movie series can be a great way to relax at the end of the day. Turn up the AC, order take-out, enjoy your favorite flavor of Claffey’s adult popsicles, and snuggle up for a night of ultimate chill.
